Safe Births + Healthy Homes
Working with local partners, Safe Births + Healthy Homes (SB+HH) solar-electrifies off-grid health clinics and donates solar lights to new moms and babies for use at home. Almost 16,000 mother/baby pairs have benefitted from this program.
Innovation & Impact in 3 Steps:

1. Clinic Electrification
Health clinics receive solar systems, improving healthcare access and delivery for an average of 12,000 people per site. Clinics hours increase and provide improved care to their communities.

2. Community Education
Expectant mothers and community members receive information about how Safe Births + Healthy Homes can improve maternal and infant health.

3. Solar Light Distribution
After the midwife-attended births, new moms receive a solar light to care for their babies at home. The solar light replaces harmful lighting sources, improving household health and safety.
